As I transitioned through middle school and high school, I was a member of the Cheer Squad and then Dance Team. My love for sharing dance with others continued to grow. I was selected for the invitation-only All American Dance Team, an international performance team made up of high school dancers, that toured 14 countries throughout Europe. Dancing on stages far from home opened my eyes to something bigger, the idea that movement connects people across cultures, languages, and backgrounds. I experienced how music and dance truly are universal.
I had the honor in college of being a member of the Kansas State University Classy Cat Dance Team. Those seasons deepened my love of teamwork, commitment, and showing up fully — even when it’s challenging. Dance taught me how to lead with both strength and grace.
And then, as life often does, it shifted.
Career. Growth. Responsibility.
Dance quietly waited for me.
I began serious training at the Miller Marley School of Dance and Voice, where I learned not just dance styles and technique, but discipline, artistry, and a lifelong passion. As a member of the performance troupe – the Miller Marley Entertainers – we delighted crowds across the Kansas City metro area. Those early years shaped me and taught me how powerful it feels to move with confidence.
Like so many, I was lucky to have parents who gave me the opportunity to take dance classes in grade school. And gymnastics. And softball. By middle school I had found my passion in dance and there was no looking back.
Years later, I reignited my passion through line dancing in Colorado. What I found was more than choreography …it was joy. It was laughter. It was beautiful friendships formed across generations. I joined classes throughout Colorado Springs and across the Front Range, rediscovering how wonderful it feels to learn alongside others who simply want to move and have fun.
I began attending conventions and competitions, meeting choreographers and instructors known around the world. I saw how thoughtful instruction and welcoming leadership could transform a room full of strangers into a vibrant, supportive community.
That’s when I knew I didn’t just want to dance — I wanted to create that space for others.
I chose to pursue accreditation through the National Teachers Association (NTA) because I believe in leading with integrity. If I am going to guide others, I want to do it well. To date, I have received 3 levels of accreditation and am continuing to further my instructor training. I want every class to feel structured, welcoming, and encouraging. A place where beginners feel safe, experienced dancers feel challenged, and everyone leaves smiling.
Come Line Dance With Me was born from that belief.
I truly believe that anyone who wants to dance can dance. Age doesn’t matter. Experience doesn’t matter. What matters is showing up and having fun.
This is a space where we move together.
Where confidence grows step by step.
Where community is built one grapevine at a time.
Come dance. Build confidence. Belong.
Thanks for taking the time to get to know me. If you’ve been thinking about trying line dance, consider this your gentle nudge. I’ll save you a spot on the floor.
